| London Cross Cultural Learner
Centre (LCCLC) reaches out to the London and area
community to increase awareness of global issues
and to provide opportunities for involvement.
Through our Library and Resource Centre, community
groups can access extensive information on Multiculturalism,
Diversity, various international and global issues
as well as information on issues and challenges
faced by newcomers (i.e. E.S.L. and employment
resources).
We provides events and workshops
to the general public throughout the year. Our
Speakers Bureau highlights a vast array of local
expertise that specialize in different topics,
such as environmental awareness, race relations,
cultural sensitivity and appreciation of diversity.
We also offers programs for students at every
level, from elementary to post-secondary.
We publishes a monthly quarterly.
We also maintain update contact information for
various Ethno-cultural Groups and Faith Groups
in London. Fact sheets and bibliographies are
produced occasionally. Volunteers are welcomed
in every area of LCCLC programming.
LCCLC work in partnership with
other social service agencies, cultural groups,
government and private sector to reduce discrimination
and increase understanding about the benefits
of diversity and to ensure that London is able
to response adequately to the needs of its changing
community.
