Host Program
Our Host Program creates community links for newcomers to Canada. Longtime residents of Canada offer their volunteer time for friendship and networking through one-to-one “matches” and shared group activities, mentoring and cultural exchange.
Who is eligible for one-to-one “matches”? – Permanent Residents of Canada and Convention Refugees
Who is eligible for collaborative activities and group activities with community partners? All newcomers to Canada
The Host Program focuses its efforts on newcomers and their families to assist them with the many aspects of community integration.
We can help your family to:
- Practice and improve your conversational English
- Address particular language and communication blocks
- Learn about Canadian life
- Make contacts through organized group activities
- Explore educational, recreational, vocational and career goals with supports & referrals
