Language Instruction For Newcomers To Canada

• LINC provides English language and life skills classes for Newcomers in a comfortable supportive environment
• Classes are situated at various community locations
• Cultural interpretation and safe, caring childcare are provided on-site

LINC Classes Locations

• YM-YWCA of London (five locations including Woodstock)
• YMCA of St. Thomas - Elgin (four locations)
• Richmond Street Language Centre
• Chinese Canadian National Council
• Thames Valley District School Board (five locations)

Support Services

• Child-minding and transportation assistance may be available for eligible students depending on the demand for these services.
• Full-time, Part-time and evening classes may be available at some locations.

Testing Benchmark

At the LINC Assessment Centre we use:

      The Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessment (CLBA)

      The Canadian Language Benchmarks Literacy Assessment (CLBLA)

      The Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT)

to assess English language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
