What is RAP? 
The Resettlement Assistance Program provides essential services to
Government Assisted Refugee (GAR) newcomers through its main
components:
Services under the RAP
Program include:
GARs will receive the major following services while temporarily
residing at the Reception centre.
- 24-hours supervision while temporary
accommodated in the Centre up to approximately 15 business days
- Orientation and training on household
facilities
- Orientation on Fire Evacuation Escape Plan
- Baby sitting services with educational
activities while parents attend orientation sessions
- Needs Assessment for individual and family
members upon arrival to determine service priorities
- Address emergency needs such as medical
issues, missing luggage... etc...
- Provide extensive orientation in the clients'
languages on a variety of topics:

- Assistance with search for permanent
accommodation

- Advocating with Landlords on clients' behalf
- Providing links to services in the community
- Assistance with Government forms and
applications such as:
