Volunteer Orientation |

On the
First Working Monday of each
month (September - June ), we will have an orientation
to the many different volunteer opportunities
available throught the CCLC.

Volunteer Selection |
| The volunteer should possess
some or all of the following skills and personal
attibutes:
- Basic understanding of other cultures
- Good communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of second language preferred
- Good organizational skills
- Commitment to LCCLC mission and goal
- Pleasant personality and patience

Processing Volunteers |
- All the potential volunteers need to register
for the Volunteer Orientation.
- At the end of the orientation, potential volunteers
need to fill out the application form and acknowledge
the Duty of the Confidentiality and the Conflict
of Interest.
- The volunteer coordinator will check the potential
volunteers' references and refer them to the
different programs.
- Potential candidates then will meet with the
program leader or coordinator for specific qualification
and the detail volunteering work.

Duty of Confidentiality |
- All Volunteer shall keep confidential all
matters considered by the Volunteer or coming
to their notice or attention as Volunteers,
which are or a confidential or private nature.
Such matters shall include personal information
on individual members and information relating
to the London Cross Cultural Learner Centre
to preserve always the Centre’s Position
and reputation.
- If any officer, employee, volunteer or other
member of the Centre, is present at a Staff
Board meeting where confidential matters are
considered and becomes aware of such confidential
information, such person shall have an obligation
to keep such information confidential and not
to communicate it to anyone else (including
spouse and relatives)
- This “Duty of Confidentiality”
survives the Volunteer Member’s term of
duty.

Conflict of Interest |
|
No Volunteer should place himself or herself in conflict of interest
situation with respect to London Cross Cultural Learner Centre,
its mandate, policies and procedures.

A Conflict of Interest is a situation where
any personal or business interests of a Volunteer
are in conflict with the best interests of the
Corporation.
- A Conflict of Interest may occur when a Volunteer,
or one of their family members, gives or receives
a direct or indirect personal gain or benefit
or indirect advantage.
