Welcome Home

A Safe Place to Dream

When newcomers arrive in Canada, the settlement journey can be challenging. Building language proficiency, adjusting to a new culture, and dealing with experiences of loss are some of the difficulties they face. The limited rental supply and the accelerating rental rates have created hardship for all of London’s vulnerable population. In response, the London Cross Cultural Learner Centre is seeking to develop a long-term affordable rental housing complex for newcomers.

Our Project

Welcome Home is not about bricks and mortar. It’s about people. It’s about safety. It’s about offering dignity and empowering refugee families. It’s about hope.

The CCLC acquired land on Dundas St. that offers a central location with easy access to transportation and services. An external consultant conducted a project feasibility analysis that confirmed the viability of the project and allowed us to move forward. Nicholson Sheffield Architects Inc. has been retained to design the project.
