Financial Reporting Analyst

About This Role:

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible to support CCLC’s financial systems ensuring the effective delivery of programs and services in accordance with our organization’s guiding principles and consistent with our fiduciary obligations. This position will also support monthly internal and external financial reporting, month end & year-end close processes, and audit preparation.

What You Will Do:

  • Support the Accounting Supervisor in the day-to-day activities of the Finance department.

  • Monitor program expenditures against budget, contracts, and contribution agreements; provide Program Managers with monthly financial reports.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly expense claims to funders.

  • Complete balance sheet reconciliation; prepares monthly journal entries.

  • Prepare internal and external financial reports such as monthly reports for the Board and monthly/quarterly reports for funders.

  • Maintain chart of accounts and completed account reconciliations.

  • Evaluate and make recommendations to the Accounting Supervisor to improve efficiency and controls within the department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or related field or a 3-year Business Accounting diploma

  • Minimum 3 years experience in full-cycle accounting including financial reporting

  • Advanced MS Excel skills

  • Experience with Sage Intacct accounting system is considered an asset

  • An appropriate level of proficiency in principles and practices of accounting, financial management, and reporting

  • Strong commitment to inclusion & to working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds

  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to respond to staff requests and needs in a timely manner

  • Design, write, edit, and/or present complex and/or detailed concepts, reports, proposals

  • Undertake work requiring attention to very fine details

  • Strong problem-identification and resolution skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively both in individual and group settings

  • Ability to complete a satisfactory Vulnerable Persons Police Check

Working Environment

  • Hybrid (will be required to work in office for first 90 days; 1 -2 days in the office per week following)

  • Office Hours 8:30 – 4:30 Monday to Friday

Remuneration

  • Salary Range $60K - $68 based on qualifications and experience
