The Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) program is offered in partnership with the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB), the London Catholic District School Board (LCDSB), and other local community agencies. We support newcomer students and families to integrate into the education system and their new community.

How It Works

Our settlement workers are located in schools throughout London and the surrounding regions to help newcomer students and their families adjust to their school and community. The SWIS team provides information on the Ontario school system and assistance in facilitating communication between newcomers and the school. They conduct a review of their settlement needs and then develop an individual settlement plan designed to assist with their transition to Canada.
